THE 2022 CHALLENGE

A journey of remembrance ‘The Ultimate Sacrifice Challenge’.

After 2021's monumental effort and raising over £168,000 for charity Brian Wood is once again running a marathon a day for those fallen in conflict hoping to raise a total of £250,000.

Starting on
2nd October 2022, with the London Marathon, Brian will run a total of 35 Marathons, over 35 days, to commemorate the increasing number of lives lost in conflict. Brian is running a total of 917 miles for the British lives lost in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

He will be running with
26 new names on his shirt each day - each mile representing a life lost. The additional 0.2 miles over 35 days is dedicated to the late HM Queen Elizabeth II as a thank you for her service to our great nation.

Any and all support greatly received.

WALKING WITH THE WOUNDED

Whether mentally wounded, socially wounded or physically wounded, they deserve the care, support and means they and their families need to function in society, serving in the communities in which hey live, reigniting their sense of purpose and making a positive contribution again. Walking With The Wounded gets those who’ve served – and their families - back on their feet.

We do four things: employment, mental health, care coordination and volunteering which are saving jobs, homes, relationships and lives for the veterans who are struggling since leaving the military.

Our innovative partnerships with the NHS, supporting mental health teams across the UK; the creation of Project Nova with the RFEA to intercept veterans in police custody and reduce reoffending; our own mental health capabilities enabling 121 therapy within days; and our award-winning volunteering initiative OP REGEN, are delivering significant, positive, social impacts across the UK.

MILITARY AMBASSADOR

Over the past two years Brian has helped champion Walking With The Wounded's ‘Walking Home For Christmas’ campaign, created the 'Longest Day Challenge' event in partnership with his Keep Attacking brand, and set the veteran community alight with his Ultimate Sacrifice Challenge and raising more than £170,000 for the charity. Brian supports the charity's mental health and employment programmes to get those who served, and their families, back on their feet and able to make a positive contribution once more.

Brian’s military experience, entrepreneurship, and keep attacking mantra has taken him on a remarkable journey. From the battlefield to best-selling author to our TV screens and charity fundraiser, Brian is an extraordinary individual who we as an organisation are excited to work with and learn from.

  • “We are incredibly proud to have Brian come on board as an Ambassador for the charity, what he has achieved personally and for others in recent years is extraordinary. He is truly one of the most humble, talented individuals we have ever had the privilege of working with and as an organisation we are looking forward to seeing Brian continue to champion veterans and their families.”

    Fergus Williams, CEO Walking Wounded
  • “I am excited and honoured to have been appointed as an Ambassador for WWTW. I have supported the charity for years and I know they continue to support so many people who need it. Keep Attacking!”

PROVIDING SUPPORT TO EMPOWER PEOPLE.

Walking With The Wounded supports disadvantaged veterans who have served in the Armed Forces and their families, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities. We have adapted and we continue to support our ex-service community during this difficult time. WWTW has worked in partnership with the NHS for many years and during this period we will continue those partnerships to respond wherever possible to support our incredible NHS.

Brian has set out his planned routes on each day of the challenge, leaving each day from a British Army Barracks. More details will be made available through Brians Social Media Channels, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIN.

Without a doubt, this is a challenge not to be underestimated. Brian has previously completed marathons and cross country charity events in support of veterans and his former regiment – the PWRR. When asked how he was feeling about the challenge, Brian responded both positively and focused,

”I constantly remind myself why I am doing this when I’m fully in the hurt locker.”

Brian went on to say, “It’s solid graft on my body but I need to put the hard work in so I can represent the 635 that have fallen.”
